Women's Health and Contraception

We offer a complete contraception service including fitting/removal of implants and coils. If you have any specific concerns such as fertility issues, period problems or wish to discuss menopause management, please specify your request to see her.

Minor Surgery

Minor Surgery is performed at the practice by Dr Kharwadkar, such as removal of simple lumps and bumps and joint injections. This needs to be agreed with your GP beforehand.

Flu jabs

All over 65 year olds and those at risk (see below) are advised to have annual flu jabs. The Practice runs clinics in the autumn.

At risk:

  • Chronic respiratory disease, including asthma (if on a steroid based medication)

  • Diabetes

  • Chronic heart disease

  • Chronic renal disease

  • Immunosuppressed

Travel Vaccination

Appointments for vaccinations for travel to foreign countries are available.

When booking your appointment, please let the receptionist know where you will be travelling and the date of your outward journey. Some travel vaccinations are not covered by NHS regulations and so a charge will be made for the vaccinations/medications given.

The completion of a travel assessment form will be required prior to booking.

If you have any concerns or queries, please contact the practice.

Health Checks

We offer health checks to all patients over the age of 40, as well as general health advice. If you have not had one or if you have not been seen at the surgery for three years (or one year for those over 75) you can request a check up appointment if you wish.

Children's Health

The Practice provides a comprehensive service for children and young people. Routine reviews are carried out, but we are always available to address any concerns.

Antenatal services

The Practice works in partnership with our midwife and health visitors to offer a comprehensive antenatal and postnatal service. Preconceptual advice and guidance is available from your GP or Nurse. Our midwife will undertake a full booking clinic when you reach 8 weeks and as part of this will discuss with you your choices of hospital and community care. Appointments are available at both sites.

Sick Notes / Fit for Work Notes

You do not need a sick note for the first week of illness. If your employer insists on one, we can issue a private note but there is a charge for this.
